Founded in 2007, Auria European Chamber Orchestra is a professional touring chamber orchestra that was created from former members of the European Philharmonic Orchestra. After several performances and live recordings (of works such as Bruckner’s 5th and 9th Symphonies) with the orchestra, they took the initiative to establish their own small, chamber orchestra to be able to continue to professionally collaborate together.

The core of Auria is made up of 9 musicians from six different countries who live, work and collaborate across Europe and throughout the world and explore artistic communication through music. Inspired by each other’s musical qualities and cultural backgrounds, the members of Auria share the vision that music has great power to bring people together from different nationalities and cultures.

Auria members regularly play in the best European orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Les Arts Florissants, the Bruckner Orchester Linz and the Orchester der Wiener Staatsoper. They founded Auria with the desire to study and perform classical, romantic and contemporary chamber repertoire and work on works that, for their particular instrumentation, are not usually performed.

In 2008, Auria had the honor of receiving coaching from the Munich Philharmonic associate concertmaster, Mathias Freund.

Auria European Chamber Orchestra founding members are Jaime Hutchinson and Esther Visser. Founded in 2007, Auria is an independent, non-profit association with its headquarters in Mantova, Italy. The association is registered in the Provinciale dell’Associazionismo – sezione F – con decreto n° 47 APS prot. N° 70178/08 del 2008.
