Jaime Hutchinson, bassoon – USA

Jaime HutchinsonJaime graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in performance in 2004 and recently received her Biennio Specialistico degree from the Conservatorio di Musica Lucio Campiani in Mantova, Italy. She has studied with world-renowned solo bassoonist, Stefano Canuti as well as Diego Chenna, Yoshiyuki Ishikawa and Gary Moody.

Jaime is a member of the Ensemble Contemporaneo del Conservatorio, the Italian Wind Quartet as well as the Mantova-based bassoon quartet, Phoenix. She has made performances with the Symphonica Toscanini under the direction of Lorin Maazel and is a former member of the European Philharmonic Orchestra, the Colorado Mahlerfest Orchestra, the Emerald City Opera Orchestra, the Steamboat Springs Orchestra and the Aurora Symphony.

Her accolades include advancing as a finalist in the Butterfield Young Artist Competition in Arizona and winning the 2001 Wallace F. Fiske Performance Competition, annually held at the University of Colorado. Jaime was also a member of the Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific in Vancouver, Canada during its inaugural year and has taken master classes with prestigious bassoonists such as Norman Herzberg, Terry Ewell, Thomas Eberhardt and Charles Ullery .
