Sebastian Skocic, oboe – Austria

Sebastian SkocicAt the age of ten, Sebastian began his studies of the Viennese oboe at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna studying with Professor Klaus Lienbacher. For a year he has been studying with Harald Hörth, soloist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. With his musical interest being encouraged by his father (former member of the Wiener Philharmoniker) and his mother (singer at the Wiener Staatsoper), he was given the opportunity to play with soloists from the Wiener Symphonic and Philharmonic Orchestras at the Wiener Musikgymnasium, where he graduated in 2007.

Sebastian has done masterclasses with Maestri Klaus Lienbacher and Christian Wetzel. He is an elected member of the Junge Akademie Wien, which was founded by the Karajan Foundation and has also played in the Jeunesse-Camp in Salzburg with Christoph Popen. He is involved in different chamber music projects and is a former member of the European Philharmonic Orchestra and an active member of the Jeunesse Orchestra in Vienna.

Sebastian has recorded the Marcello Oboe Concerto and the Bach Doppelconcerto with Juliu Bertok, former concertmaster of the Bayrische Rundfunk Orchestra.
